HEALTHY EATING...

Healthy eating is neccessary for our daily lifestyle as we would need energy for the things we do everyday. Unhealthy eating can make us lose energy quickly and lead us to a high blood pressure, heart-attack, diabetes, eating disorder, stroke, cancer and many more. Junk food such as potato chips, fried chicken, french fries, chocolates, ice-cream, candy and many more are the types of food that many people love to eat. It is fine to eat once in awhile but eating too much of these would make us gain weight easily. Vegetables benefits are to lower blood pressure, helps us to reduce the possibilities of stroke and many more. Fruits contain vitamins and fibre and plays an important part for a healty diet. I only like to eat fruits as they are much more juicy. Red apples, cherries, pinapples, honey dew, watermelons, and wintermelons are my favourites. For vegetables i only seem to like broccolis and cauliflowers. As the way my maid cooks them are just simply delicious. I support our school's campaign for eating more fruits and vegetables as when some of them try the fruits and vegetables, they might like it and start eating them in their daily lives. I suggest that once a year, every class would set up a booth and make something both creative and great to eat/drink using fruits or vegetables and sell it during their own recess timings. that way, it would allow the pupils to try the different recepies that each class have made. And it would remind them of eating healthily. Or ask the parents of the pupils to remind the pupils to eat at least one serving of vegetables and fruits daily.

SILENT READING... shh!

Silent reading is to help us to expand our vocabulary so that writing compositions would be easier for us as we would have more ideas. I love reading from as many authors as possible as i am always fascinated by the way their stories make me want to go on till there is no tomorrow. There are really good authors that thrill you by the adventures while some have a really good sense of humor. I love novels as they always make me reluctant to put the book down. And because of that, i always take only about two or three days to finish one book. Mysteries are also one of my favourites as i always wonder what will happen and all kinds of crazy ideas will start to form in my head. Reading it helps me to gain more ideas for my composition writing and it also expands my vocabulary. Encouraging the pupils to read only helps if they have a hobby to read. But the school can also arrange trips to the nearest community library and maybe ask one of the storytellers to recommend some great books that would intrest us. My favourite books are all from the Twilight Saga written by Stephenie Meyer. Lots of people are reading it because the author has great imagination and she write about myths and legends with ease. I admire her as all her books are bestsellers.

OUTSIDE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES...

1) On somedays, i have tution and on sundays i have golf. I am not someome that takes up loads of activities as i get busy with CCAs and tutuion/school homework.

2) Probably 3 or 4 days. It depends on the time that i have.

3) Tutions last for about 2 hours or so and golf lasts for 4 or 5 hours.

4) Tution is to help me understand a certain subject better while golf relaxes me.

5) Yes. If i did not take up tution, i think i would not be able to cope well enough for my studies. And golf allows me to meet new friends and relax.

6) No. These activities have been helping me balance out my time and keeps me busy as well.

7) No. These activities have been going on for about 3-4 years. Canceling it might make things awkward for me.

8) Yes. But it also depends on when they actually take up the activities. And what kind of activities they take up. Learning new things might help and sometimes it would make the free time you have scarce. In other words, it is like asking yourself if u want to give up time to learn a new skill that might do good in the future or just move on like everybody else without making the most of your time.

PASSION FOR LEARNING...

1) I understand that 'Passion For Learning' is when you are learning something, you put all your efforts into concentrating and learning in that certain subject. Like when you give a wrong answer, you still don't give up learning. You would do what it takes just to learn from your mistake and keep trying until you get it right. And to put your heart into learning or studying.

2)I think it is necessary for people to have passion for learning because if there is no passion, people would not be intrested in learning anything new. Having that value in everybody would make life easier for teachers and parents as they can give provide us with more knowledge within less time.

3)Yes. In fact, it is my cousin. even though she finished her studies in Singpore, she still wanted to further her studies in Australia. Even though i seldom see her nowadays, i still envy her for her passion. As i am sure i do not have that much passion for learning. She is my rolemodel for things like these. I always look up to her for advice if I have difficulty in my school life and she always gives me brillant advice.

4)She shows it by giving my advice and telling me what she did in her teenage days. when she comes to my house, i would ask her how to do the harder questions and she would help me without difficutly.

5)I am not sure if I have passion for learning. But i do read books by many different kinds of authours and naturally improve in my compositions and oral reading as i am able to imagine what happens when i read a certain part of the book and urges me to think what is currently happening in that certain part.

6)I can do it by making learning new things seem fun with my imagination and help me to be able to love learning new things.

TARGET SETTING...

1)The purpose of setting targets is to help us know what we want to achieve and we try to work towards that certain goal.

2)Yes, I think it is useful. If we have a goal, we will know that we have to do something and try hard to achieve that goal that we set for ourselves.

3)My mother always encourages me to set targets for my coming exams or tests. It somehow became a habit and it makes target setting for this year easier.

4)I will try to cut down on the time i use to play and use it for revision. I have not planned everything out but I am sure I would have it planned before prelim.

5)My parents give me advice on how to use each day with a purpose. They make sure that I would do my revision or do some reading before my day ends.

6)I think of all the different rewards i would get. Like for PSLE, my reward would be getting into a good school if i work towards my targets.

7)They can give us advice when we need it and maybe sometimes go around checking if we have problems with our homework and help us.

THE SCHOOL'S MISSION AND VISION

1)The school's mission is: Providing quality education to equip pupils with the values, knowledgeand skills for the 21st century. The school's vision: A school of distinction Nurturing futue-redy Citizens of Character. Our school values:
P- Passion for learning
I- Integrity our foundation
E- Excellence in everything we do.
2) I think of them as guidelines to help us pupils shape our character.
3)I belive in the school values. As values help us to belive that we have to do our best in everythin we do.
4)I think sometimes they do. Like when we are asked to do something, we would want to do our best.
5)We can live up to the school values by constantly reminding ourselves.
6) By organizing outdoor activities that will naturally make us remind ourselves how important the school values are in the things we do almost everyday.

HOW I SPENT MY HOLIDAYS...

I did'nt go anywhere during my holidays. But i'll say honestly that staying at home doing nothing was really boring. Even though there will be good meals every now and then, i actually wished that i could go back to school soon. But i remembered that during the first week, i stayed at home watching tv and playing computer. Then the next week, i decided to kill some time so i went out to have a haircut. I have to admit, school was much more exciting than that. So my weeks were pretty much wasted. There is not much to talk about. But there was christmas, and a new years eve party. (which was probably the same as every single year). There isn't much to talk about. So i'll sign off now.
